I tried to install JTDX improved previously with the same issue as I am getting now. My radio is a Yaesu FT-710. In JTDX, I use the Yaesu FT-991 and it works well. However, in JTDX improved I always get a rig error. Have tried multiple settings under the Radio tab but nothing has changed the error. "Hamlib error: Invalid parameter while getting current VFO mode". Does JDTX and the JDTX improved use different versions of Hamlib? If so, how to I get JTDX improved to use the same version as JTDX which has no issues? I have had no issues with WSJT-X improved, but this appears to use an even newer version of Hamlib as I can actually select the proper radio from the radio dropdown options and WSJT-X improved works just fine.
