Hello,

We're using the JTOpen JDBC driver in our product (Talend Studio for Data Integration)
Currently we have a dropdown that allows the end users to choose a database driver version. This is based on the assumption that the JDBC driver version has to be matched with the database.

Unfortunately this means that our users when the server is upgraded have to make changes to the ETL jobs and select the new version of the server.

Could you confirm if the JDBC driver is cross compatible with versions? I.e. if we use the latest driver that will work with older versions of AS400 that are still supported. Or we must leave this choice up to the user.

Regards,
Balázs

The latest version of JTOpen should be compatible with all versions of "IBM i", as nothing is purposely changed to break backward compatibility.

However, only the versions of "IBM i" that are currently in service are regularly tested and officially supported.

We have V6R1 to V7R3 currently but both of these seems to be "IBM i" so we should be fine.

Thank you for the quick response! We can close this ticket.
