More on the patch auditioning bug... It seems to be more than that. Not only does "Send" not work (for sending a single patch to the ESQ-1 edit buffer), but also a "Store" doesn't work either (to actually store a patch in a regular patch memory). Since I can successfully do sysex dumps of whole banks in either direction, that means there's no Midi communication problem, and it appears the ESQ-1 driver is completely broken with regard to any sending of single patches. It's sending only though, because I *can* receive a single patch and store it in a library. So here's a matrix of what works and doesn't. I can only test the ESQ-1 driver, since that's the only synth I have with JSynthLib support: Bank send: OK Bank receive: OK Patch send: broken Patch receive: OK Patch audition: broken And the additional oddity that it puts up a warning dialog when you try to send a single patch saying you'll have to acknowledge afterward from the ESQ-1 front panel. I have Emagic SoundDiver for Windows, and it doesn't require acknowledgement from the ESQ-1 after sending a patch. Somewhat moot since no patch ever actually arrives, but still strange that the JSynthLib driver expects the ESQ-1 will want that. Anyway, it seems to be more of a single-patch send bug rather than just an auditioning bug. -- + Brent A.
