This would allow anyone outside the project release drivers to public 
easily.

This would allow any user that can not or does not want to build himself 
to use binary drivers from any source.

This would allow anyone to use any version of driver with any version of 
application, without being forced to upgrade everything when wanting to 
upgrade just one.

It is all about freedom of choice really.
