In the case of the AlesisDM5SgSeteditor, the second
note on has a velocity of zero, which makes it the
same thing as a note off.
Sending a note on with velocity of zero rather than a
note on is sort of a MIDI hack that came about to make
use of running status. Here's a link to the MIDI spec
