Okay... well I made the synth selection window into a JTree.

The code is *ugly* (mostly because DevicesConfig needs a major 
overhaul). In fact, I wasn't expecting it to even *work* the way it is. 
I was just doing a test to see how close I was getting and, pow, there 
it went.

Give it a try and see if it works for you (I hope Brian already branched 
the 2.0 candidate...). I know that selecting the Emu throws an exception 
on mine, but I think that's a bug in some other code.
