Hi Everyone: This is the first of what I hope are many messages to the open jSyncManager forum. This forum includes both jSyncManager developers and users alike, so if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to post them here. I'm happy to announce that the jSyncManager Core Development Team has, as of last night, got USB HotSync working using the jUSB API (http://jusb.sourceforge.net). Those users on platforms currently supported by the jUSB API can now synchronize their PalmOS based devices via USB docking stations with the jSyncManager, just as they do with serial docking stations. Best of all, USB HotSync is, in our testing, nearly 3 times faster than Serial HotSync running at 115 200 bps! This will be a preliminary release in order to get a wide variety of users the chance to work with the jSyncManager. It will include the new packaging structure we implemented a few weeks ago, along with the new jConduit API and Transport APIs. Existing third-party jConduits won't work with this new release, however we'll be working with many of them in order to rectify this situation. Missing in this pre-release will be the new Swing-based GUI (which is still being designed), and a number of other new items we're working on for the next official release (slated for March 2003). I'll post another message here when the code is online, so you can download it and experiment with it.
