Market index (e.g. DAX) is jumping?

In the top left corner of the window, JStock shows the market index that corresponds to the selected country (e.g. DAX for Germany). The value of this field changes as it is updated from the Yahoo server (e.g. from 6076 to 6070 or 6080). BUT: Sometimes, the value changes to a completely different thing (6796) and the color turns to red, then after a few seconds, it changes back to the usual value (6076). The effect repeats itself every 30 seconds or so. Same thing happens for FTSE (5351 as usual versus 5700 sometimes).

What does this different value mean?
