#68 Crashes under Windows

engine (25)

The Windows version of JStock crashes after minimizing it to system tray and keeping it inactive for a while. This happens especially when a screensaver is running. The error is reproducable. Starting the program under the windows command line doesn't give information about the reasons. So I cannot give more information on that. Only the windows version has that problem.

Can you provide more details? For example, what version of Windows are you using? What version of Java are you using? Does upgrading Java to latest version solve the problem?

Also, "keeping it inactive for a while" -> Is it an hour, or 3 hours? or whole day?

I use Windows Vista. My Java version is 1.6.0_15-b3. Keeping inactive for a while means that I minimize it to tray for 30 min - 1 h. Shorter periods of time do not affect. If I want to resize the window again the icon is still in the tray but disapears clicking on it. Looking into the task manager shows that jstock and java is not executed any more.

I will update to java 1.6.0_17-b4 and see if the error still occurs.

Yes, it still occurs with the current version of java, i. e. 1.6.0_17-b4.

OK. I will try to reproduce.

If you didn't minimize the JStock and let it run for 30min - 1h, does it still crash?

What country are you looking at?

Can you please help to record the
    (1) Memory usage during first launch.
    (2) Memory usage after 30min - 1h, after you minimize. Record the memory usage before you try to double click the icon to crash it ;)

I had tested to run (1.0.5L) continuously for 3 hours, with scanning speed set to 1 seconds, with around 19 stocks added. No crash happen.

Since there is no respond from the submitter and I receive no further complain on this, I will close this tracker.

Please re-open this tracker if there is similar case in the future.
