Editing the menues is error-prone. I would like to have
a graphical menu-editor to do it with instead of
editing a complicated text-file.

There are several publicly available menu editors on the web
site under "Contributions",

Thomas Stutz' Tree Menu Generator for Windows is probably
the most advanced and most supported one.
