#36 begin align of AMSMAth

First of all thanks for the wonderful software. I am trying to include

S &= 1 + 2 + \cdots + (n-1) + n \\ S &= n + (n-1) + \cdots + 2 + 1

but it doesn't seem to understand even if I load the AMSMath extension. It does something when I enclose the above in \{ .. \] I guess because in this case it starts processing it (by the way the same behaviour is true for equation environment). But even in this case it stops (Firefox) with a message

A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

Script: http://localhost/jsMath/jsMath.js:38

Can you help me please?

A test page that includes the alignment you provide works fine for me. Can you point me to a URL for a page that is causing the problem for you so that I can test it out myself? You can send one via email for more privacy if you want.

I also experienced the same problem. It only happens to me when I put jsMath under the site.html template of my Trac server. The same math code works under a simple static page.
