The 0.8 release makes it possible to add *SHORT* videos to a slideshow. You will likely be very disappointed in the performance if you try to add any video over a couple minutes in length. And there are no effects outside of transitions that you can add. After all, this is not a video editing program. This feature is simply a perk for those who want to spice up their slideshow a little bit.
Version 0.7 adds many convenience features like a Save button and Replace Image option. It also contains a few bug fixes of course.
It looked like it was going to take a lot longer to get this one out, but it didn't!
Now scripts are Windows/Cygwin friendly. Download and installation instructions for both Linux and Windows now included!
Just in case you missed the release notes from version 0.5, now create Flash and generic MPEG2 videos as well as DVD-compatible.
The main development is the flexibility of choosing the final output format. Fullscreen or widescreen formats in PAL or NTSC now possible. Also, custom sized MPEG4 and Flash video output possible.
No dependence on mjpegtools any longer!
The 0.3 (2 April 2007) release includes the following changes:
* Added jar file and desktop icon to the distribution
* Debugged time (start, duration and end) changing algorithm. Does it work correctly now?
* Simplified the interface. No start time HMS and no end time HMS display, plus More complete transition reporting
* Added a "Show Timings" checkbox. Defaults to not selected, so simplified interface comes up by default (no timings shown)
* Timings may be entered in sec or in hh:mm:ss format, including the "scale to" field
* Pan direction is selected at random when loading a new directory
* Added a title editor dialog for title slides. Now background and text color are individually selectable, plus defaults are changeable
* Should not hang when creating video
* Errors in ffmpeg, mplex lead to warning messages
This is the first user interface update. Exciting new features such as
* A "New" button (brings up a single blank slide)
* Default duration and transition duration option at start
* Color chooser for blank slides
added!
The interface is not changed. Modifications aimed at improved final product quality, improved speed, and better user-friendliness.
This is the initial release of jslideshow. This version should be considered alpha software.
