cannot place road during game start

During the initial placement phase of the game, I
receive the messgage "It's elecbrick's turn to build a
road." but the road never appears under the cursor.
Random clicking where a road should be placable yields
no effect. All buttons (roll, done, unlock) work as
expected so it is not locked up. It is simply confused
about allowing me to place a road.
This happened to me 2 times out of 5 games today. It
never seems to occur once the dice have been rolled.

I've also noticed this, though have not been able to
reproduce it predictably. If you can find a sequence of
events, or determine the situation which causes it, that
would be very helpfull!
We'll be continuing to look into it.

I've noticed this too and it happens pretty regularly.
I've also had trouble placing settlements if I'm the 4th
to place them (meaning I place 4th and 5th). I've only
noticed this on my linux machine running java 1.4.2_03.
Didn't notice this on my mac with java 1.4.2_05. I'm using
jsettlers-1.05. I'm going to update my jdk to see if that
helps.

When I notice this, it seems that I really can place the
piece (road or settlement) it's just that the 'mouse over'
to display it in potential locations doesn't seem to work.
In otherwords if I move the moust over a likely location to
place the object, the display doesn't show it, yet if I
click the place will be placed anyway. Is this consistent
with what you experience, or are you /really/ unable to
place it?

Re: the initial problem, I haven't been able to reproduce
this since I switched to jdk 1.5.0. To clarify though, I
did not see the mouse over and I was NOT able to place the
road in a legal position. Basically there is nothing to
be done except to quit the game. Clicking roll or done
provokes the proper respone that you can't end your turn
yet. So, its possible the new jdk fixed that problem.
That said, I've been able to produce a very similar
problem when playing the road building card. I'm able to
place the first road but not the second one. No mouse over
and I'm not able to place the road anyway. As best I can
tell, my only option is to quit the game. This has
happened both times I've played the card. Hope this
helps.
