Major Editor Updates

The jsEdit client side code has gone through some major revisions, all of which were contributed by the newest member of the team, David Barnett. The founding members of the jsEdit edit team would like to welcome our first addition - bringing with him 3 years of javascript experience and another unix side testbed.

Significant Improvements
* stateful parser now allowing hilighted literal constants and multiline comments
* massive code refactoring greatly improving code readability and some performance
* new keystroke interface improving but not eliminating the key repeat bug

jsEDIT - a web based php editor

With the first public release of jsEDIT coming very soon now, here's a little bit of what we have been up too.

jsEDIT is totally open sourced software, all the code in the project was written by the project founders as part of a phpeditors.com compitition. The goal of the compitition was to create a completely web based php editor, this submission went far beyond the 'bar' for the contest. By making extensive use of javascript (the 'js' in jsEDIT) we were able implement full sytax hilighting and reasonable indention defaults. Our first release will include this. ... read more
