It turns out 1.5 classes *cannot* be used by 1.4 JRE.  What this means
is, if we want JSDSI to be usable by 1.4 clients, we cannot port JSDSI
to 1.5 (unless we want to maintain two versions, which I don't think
we want).  Sorry for my misstatements earlier!
