Thanks for the reference.
It looks like he is using JScheme 1.4 (which was Peter Norvig's 
original Jscheme implementation from 1997).
Its too bad he didn't try it on the latest version of JScheme.  Still, 
the dissertation looks interesting and seems to
point to ways in which JScheme could be optimized....
