problem in connection

    hi
    we try to run a barcode scaner in windows XP so we download 2 package :1-JBarcode-Recognition-0.2
    2-JSane
    but we dont know how can introduse driver to JVM
    (in other word we dont know what port or addres we must pass to connection & driver)
    please answer as soon as possible

      You need to install sane (from www.sane-projects.org) on the machine where the scanner will be attached to. If you follow the instruction for setting up saned (http://penguin-breeder.org/sane/saned/) Then you can use jsane to attach to that computer usually on port 6566. I hope helps

      we go to the site that you said.(http://www.sane-projects.org)we think that this program dont work in windows,am i true?

      I think there is a windows version, but can't find any referance to it on the web site.

      I think windows mainly use twain. You may need to do a search for java and twain. Being able to use twain with JSane is something I would like to look into but do not currently have the time to do.

      JBarcode should work with any image file.

      If you are intrested in making jsane work with twain, and would like to release it into jsane I would be more than happy to take any patches you create.

      Another option is to find some old hardware and install linux onto it and attach your scanner to it. Asuming that your scanner works with Sane.
