I would like to know if i haveto disable IRmonitor to comunicate from my desktop that has attached an Actisys IR-220L+ device to my laptop. i would like to know how can i do that, because i have tried that and don't works.

Yes, you need to disable the Windows IR client as it tries to own
the IR port. Disabling IR communication really just shuts down the
client; the port remains in service.
I haven't worked much with WinCE hardware, so I don't know how/if
the HP implements IrOBEX, which is what JRed uses.
