I tried using jrdesktop to remotely access a Vista machine. Then I try running an installer, a UAC window pops up to ask user to choose allow it to continue or not. However, this UAC window does not show up in jrdesktop remote control window. So basically at this point, it gets stuck.
make sure that the firewall is not preventing the connection to your vista machine
launch jrdesktop server,
in other machine , try "telnet vista_machine 6666" in your command line to check if the server in reachable or not
Firewall is not a problem. I can view and control the remote desktop. The problem occurred when trying to run an installer. It looks a common issue for Java based remote desktop applications. I guess it's a problem of underlying Java API.
