#23 AutoType and adding more fields in Java Password Safe

  1. How can we use the Autotype feature in Java Password Safe.
  2. If I have to add more fields like User First Name, Last name etc how can I do that.

    Hi Tejinder,

    the good place to ask is feature requests, I think.

    Autotype is not implemented yet, only planned.

    You cannot add more fields on your own, they must be supported in the pwsafe lib first, and afterwards added to the ui. In any case only fields supported from the Pc passwordsafe version will be supported.

    Both is planned for V0.9.

    AutoType is crucial to working effectively with the password database. I see that this feature request is accepted, but has anyone started working on it? Some skeleton code at least? I might have some hours to look at this, but if I have to start from scratch I guess it's not enough ...

    I tried to simply implement it by the use of <username>\t<password>\n and if I remember correctly, it worked more or less, but that's a rather crude workaround.
    Besides that there has been no work on that topic.

    (as an aside: A real help would be testing / improving the new maven build based Mac OS X artifacts, as I don't have a Mac)
