JPL News v0.4.1 has been released. This release contains a fix for the Most Popular Listing page where the articles were not listed in the correct order.
Also in this release is the addition of a CAPTCHA for the add news page to help prevent against spam being submitted by bots.
An Install script has also been added that provides a web interface to enter in all settings, then it will create the table and write the config file for you with. It is a one click installation.... read more
JPL News v0.4 has been released on February 18th, 2009. JPL News v0.4 is a rewritten version of the JPL News v0.2a release. The major difference is that JPL News v0.4 has been written on top of Zend Framework to help promote faster development, more stable core and cleaner coding. In addition to the base features of JPL News v0.2a, content filtering and validation have been added. Pagination of the all news [page has been added. Multi-page news postings has been changed to single page until v0.4.2. There has also been an optional bad word filter added.
The JPL News v0.2.1 release has been canceled. JPL News is being rewritten on top of the ZendFramework. This will allow for:
1) Cleaner code and easier maintainability.
2) Allow for more rapid development of features and quicker releases
3) Allow developers to customize and/or add new functioanlity more easily
Each release of JPL News will only include the ZendFramework Components that are currently being used in that release.... read more
The February 16th release date of JPL News v0.2.1a has been moved up to February 14th. The date has been changed to allow us to release a more stable version of JPL News that will address some issues that exist in the v0.2a release.
One of the major issues with the v0.2a release is that the mysql dump file is not in a format to be imported into mysql from the command line. This will be changed to a pure sql dump file with no php encapsulation.... read more
