Hello All!
Here is another project update! I am behind schedule from when I said
I would complete my tasks from the last update, but I am happy to say
that I have completed most of my tasks.
Here are some new items for people to follow up on:
* New Documentation on the website:
- a developer document has been created to explain what has already
been created and how it works
- a development environment setup document has also been created by
Mahendra that will assist developers in getting the source code
working
http://jopt.sourceforge.net/documentation.php
* RFE List has been started
- a request for enhancement list has been started where I submitted a
number of tasks that people will be able to sign up for to handle.
Feel free to post new requests or added to these.
- Let me know if you have any trouble working with the RFE list as far
as assignments and categories. If you have suggestions for the usage
of this, please let me know
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=112044&atid=661113
* The Forums is becoming more active
- some people have already started using the forums to become more
active and ask questions. keep it up! as developers begin to work on
the project, the forums will be a better means of communications
http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=383655
* Mailing list
- in the future, I hope not to spam all of you with this type of
message so please sign up for the mailing list if you are interested.
As time goes on, most of these things will probably be covered in the
forums but the mailing list is a good tool for me to contact all of
you if you are still interested
http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=112044
* CVS source access
- If you need help setting up cvs or getting the project running, just
post a message in the forums and we should be able to help you
Other items of interest:
* Mahendra is working on the first draft of the FAQ that will be
available soon. It should help answer a number of questions that you
may have, but feel free to post any you want answered.
Background on myself (for the curious):
* I'm a senior software developer from Holland, MI, USA. I have about
8 years experience in Java with a broad spectrum of java technologies.
My industry exposure is mostly supply chain related with a lot of
database and web interface development using ejb's. If you really
want to know more about me you can check out my wife's website at
http://radiantphoto.fotopages.com/. There is probably a picture of me
doing something stupid in there somewhere :)
Thank you all for your interest!
-Nick
P.S. If you don't want to get any more mailings from me, just reply
to this e-mail with the words "shut up" in the message and you won't
hear from me again. ;)
