Yes, I saw them (the utf-8 vs OpenBSD code especially) - emulating nl_langinfo "might" be a good idea, but my approach is more general for non-locale-aware OSses. That's the point of jupprc :) You are not _supposed_ to maintain it, because it should work on 2.8 _as well as_ the latest version without any changes :) But if you don't want it, I'd still be glad about a contrib directory.
