i've downloaded source files and am trying to install it in unix. configure and make ran fine but when i try 'make install', i have the following error

/usr/bin/install: cannot create regular file `/usr/local/bin/joe': Permission denied

i've tried rename joerc to .joerc but it still doesn't work.

You need to be logged in as root to do make install.
Additionally you could check your permissions on /usr/local/bin/joe by typing "ls -la /usr/local/bin/joe"

      Hi all,

      I try to install joe(2.9,3.1..etc) but i can't.
First, i had little problem with a C compiler.(this problem was solved).
Then, i execute in Terminal Konsole this:
      ./configure

and i have no problem, but i put:make

      ,and the konsole return:

      make:command not found.

      I 'm a root actually, and i don't understand this.....

      Thanks to all

      ROB
