how to install joe on cygwin

I want to install joe in cygwin, but I dont know how.

To my absolute stunned amazement I got it to work.  I downloaded the source (joe-2.9.8.tar.gz) from IE 6, and sent the file to my c:\cygwin\tmp folder.  I then used WinZip to extract it because I can't remember the tar command args to save my Windows-loving hide.

I then looked for a REAME, and saw that the instructions were plain and simple.  From a Cygwin prompt, navigate to the root of the source, and type these commands:

          make install

The first step did a ton of checks to see if the development environment was set up corerctly.  The other two compiled the binaries and installed them.  Mine was installed in /usr/local/bin.

I'm glad it worked because I have no clue what to do if it didn't.  I have pretty much all of Cygwin installed so I'm not surprised that all the required libs were present, I hope the same goes for you.  Good luck!
