feature request: remember line number

  • Nobody/Anonymous

Would it be possible to use the ".joe_state" file to keep track of the last line number you were on for a particular file before exiting?  Perhaps by passing an option (say -remline) at startup, JOE would immediately jump to that line.

Thanks for all of your efforts on my favorite editor!

A similar question has recently been asked in the Help forum.
      The url is "http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1281845&forum_id=74215"

Yes, I was aware of this post.  And it seemed clear that nobody had found a sensible way for providing this missing feature -- the proposed solution was (as its author admitted) rather cumbersome and had some serious flaws.  That's why I chose to make an *explicit* request for this feature in future versions of JOE.

      Sure it is.
But if you use the new `cancel' and `name' commands, it could be made much better, I'm just too lazy to do that.
