    C:\>java jode.decompiler.Main --help
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: jode/decompiler/Main

    i'm fresh out of ideas.

The directions are on the page:
        http://jode.sourceforge.net/usage.php

Your classpath needs to contain the name of the jar files required, not just the directory in which the jar file is placed.

Also please note that you must point to the jar file containing the Swing libraries. That should be in the directory into which you downloaded your Java environment.

I share your frustration with Java and trying to run the programs. Often it's seems counterintuitive as to which directory you must be in relative to the classpath. You will probably find the short lesson at:
        http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/getStarted/cupojava/index.html

useful as it explains (with screen shots) how to create, compile, and run a Java program in different environments.

      I hope this helps.

      Bernard
