For web start testing I tweak the deployment.properties file as described above in order to avoid security confirmation dialogs. NetX as used with OpenJDK 1.6 on ubuntu for x86 does not seem to use any such file; its security configuration seems to consist only of a trusted.certs keystore created if the user confirms the corresponding dialog.
