Due to the modularity of the system, Maven makes very god sense as a
build system.  I tried using the MasterBuild system and quickly ran
into problems.

Would you consider the use of Maven to bild and release your project?
If so, I'll volunteer to write  Maven based module build system for
you.  Also, if you are interested, would you consider changing your
directory structure to the default Maven structure of src/main/java vs
src/java?

If you like, I could probably have this thrown together by tomorrow.
