My setup: 1) Hardware Beamer Optoma DLP EH320 USTi + compatible shutter glasses; Macbook Pro (Retina 15'', late 2013; Mac OS 10.11.6) 2) Beamer connected to the MacBook with HDMI, added as secondary monitor with a resolution of 720p (1280x720, non-interlaced) at 124 Hz; 1080p (1920x1080, non-interlaced) at 60 Hz did also work but was very straining, presumably because of the lower frequency 3) Jmol applet (size: 1280x720 pixel) placed into a browser window without any other visible elements, side by side stereo switched on and model loaded. 4) Browser window placed on the beamer display and switched to fullscreen mode (worked best in Safari with a single Tab in the window, in Waterfox the location bar and the tab panel were not hidden; in the general system settings the scrollbar display should be set to 'while scrolling', otherwise the browser window unexpectedly had scrollbars) 5) Activate the beamer 3D mode 'side by side' maually and activate the shutter glasses. The beamer automatically takes the left half of the applet view for the left eye and the right half for the right eye. Unfortunately this leads to a distortion of the model, because the width is doubled but the height is unchanged. This could be compensated if Jmol would provide a model with half the normal width. Q: Bob, would it be feasible to add a new 'side by side' stereo mode with a squeezed width? Regards, Rolf |
