A colleague of mine reported that when she runs Jmol on windows 10, the program runs, but the dialog box for opening files is never made visible. When doing a ctrl-tab one can see that it is indeed a process, but it never shows up on the screen.

A long delay can occur in opening a FileDialog in Java. I have seen this when I have mapped drives but my laptop is no longer able to access them. If that is what it is, it is due to some sort of Windows 10 process that is slowing down the delivery of file information to Java.
I, too, have no problem in general with Java.
Recommend looking at the Help...Jmol Java Console for an error report, and if it is there, sending it to us.

Hi Angel,
That did indeed solve the problem. (I was under the impression that she had already gotten the last update for java).
Thanks,
René
