Hi, I have inherited a jmanage 1.0.4 installation and I am having difficulties in getting it to start up. I receive this error from pretty much every single script in the /bin directory: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.RuntimeException: javax.crypto.BadPaddingException: Given final block not properly padded at org.jmanage.core.crypto.EncryptedKey.getDecrypted(EncryptedKey.java:116) at org.jmanage.core.crypto.EncryptedKey.<init>(EncryptedKey.java:69) at org.jmanage.core.crypto.KeyManager.readKey(KeyManager.java:53) at org.jmanage.core.crypto.Crypto.init(Crypto.java:47) at org.jmanage.webui.Startup.main(Startup.java:92) Caused by: javax.crypto.BadPaddingException: Given final block not properly padded at com.sun.crypto.provider.SunJCE_h.b(DashoA12275) at com.sun.crypto.provider.SunJCE_h.b(DashoA12275) at com.sun.crypto.provider.SunJCE_af.b(DashoA12275) at com.sun.crypto.provider.PBEWithMD5AndDESCipher.engineDoFinal(DashoA12275) at javax.crypto.Cipher.doFinal(DashoA12275) at org.jmanage.core.crypto.EncryptedKey.getDecrypted(EncryptedKey.java:114) ... 4 more OS: Solaris 10 Java: 1.5_017 Does anyone happen to know what could be causing this? We have jmanage running on two identical Solaris machines, they both have JDK 1.5. I have not attempted to restart the other instance because it is running, but I need to get it running again on this machine. Thank you. |

Hi Murali -- We create quite a few custom MBeans at Care.com, which are then used from jManage. Some examples of kind of data we get are: - Cache statistics and cache invalidation. Also, we are able to look up a cached object by id. - Application configuration control -- reading configuration and changing some parameters on the fly (without re-starting the app) - MBean to get memcache stats. - MBean to send out alert notification in case some critical event happens - MBean to send jdk logging SEVERE alerts out as MBean notifications. We use this for our long running backoffice processes. We also get jmanage alerts when a application goes down. Hope this helps. Hi Arun - 1) jManage uses java applet to display graphs. Please make sure that you have JRE installed and it is also setup for the browser that you are using. 2) Currently jManage ships with only a few dashboards for core JDK mbeans. There are currently no pre-packaged dashboards for tomcat. But you can create new dashboards yourself using XML. Please see documentation. If you develop new dashboards, I would encourage you to contribute the same to the community. Thanks, Rakesh Sent from iPhone.
