    How do I use jmanage 1.0 with Tomcat 5 and using JDK 1.4.x

      Tomcat 5 contains MX4J which supports JSR160 connections. I believe there are issues with the MX4J bundled with Tomcat 5, and it is not supported by Tomcat developers. If you can get it to work, then great. If not, your best bet is to move to Tomcat 5.5 and use the JSR160 connector provided by JDK 1.5.

      To connect to MX4J, you need to specify the following in jManage:

      URL = service:jmx:rmi://$yourHost/jndi/jrmp
      java.naming.factory.initial = com.sun.jndi.rmi.registry.RegistryContextFactory
      java.naming.provider.url = rmi://localhost:$yourRmiPort

      Also, you need to specify username/password if configured.
