Hi, I asked the same question before. After some search online, it seems no kernel patch available for Linux/PPC to access performance counter registers. Under Linux/IA32, I am using PCL library with the JikesRVM. So far, it works nicely. (one can get cache hits/misses, TLB misses, and so on). It seems performance library counter on Linux/PPC is a missed functionarity not only for the JikesRVM users, also for Linux/PPC users. It would be nice if someone with kernel experience can come up with a patch. Cheers, Feng Eliot Moss wrote: > Folks -- I can't recall whether this issue has been addressed and the > current status: Can one obtain performance counter measurements for PPC > systems under Linux?
