Hi Ian,

Thanks for the reply, I am a student of Computer Science Department at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. My schools email-id is manveer@cse.iitb.ac.in. I needed an open source java virtual machine and someone advised me to use jikesrvm.

The make file for Classpath is trying to create a command called AC iirc
using your ECJ argument. There's something funny with your set up or how
you're trying to build the RVM so we need more information on your Java
set up and parameters you're using to build the RVM.

Well I'm using jikes(/usr/manveer/jikes-exec/) for compiling the java files, i have specified in the config file to use that as the java compiler but it seems to call the sun java compiler (/usr/java/jdk1.6.0/bin/javac) during the build.

You may want to try
the SVN head instead, this runs with Classpath 0.96.1 which is more
robust with its set up.
