Using Jikes 1.22 with the -deprecation option.

Overriding a deprecated method results in a semantic error.

Deprecation messages should only be warnings rather than errors.

This bug might be fixed in the CVS, OK. I've tried compiling
the cvs under cygwin but didn't succeed. So when is there
going to be a new release where this is fixed? It's a very
annoying bug because it causes a build to fail.
