Is it possible to have Single sign-on feature for j2ee applications, using jGuard. If yes, can someone provide me some pointers?
sso implies multiple features, like unified authentication datasource, application assignement to user, distributed user session, and often one unique application facade to use multiple applications.
jGuard provides some of these features, and can with some works, provide all these features.
it can also integrate with minimum work some other sso systems like CAS.
so, if you want to use jGuard in an sso way, the question would be:
what are your minimum requirements?
By sso, i meant a unified authentication and then role assignment. Can you provide some hint on using jguard along with cas?
jguard already support unified authentication on the same application server, and role assignement too.
maybe it can fullfills your needs?
otherwise, you can use kerberos system to use sso (with kerberosLoginmodule provided in the jdk and configured with jguard), or CAS client library with jGuard.
kerberosloginModule may requires less work than cas client.
some informations about kerberos and cas can be grabbed here:
it can be the base for jguard use with sso systems.
Jguard can be integrated with CAS(a SSO solution)
In fact, SSO do not care authentication detail or authorization detail. CAS provide some authentication interface which we can plugin our jguard into it.
