Hello,
have You ever heard of jGABL?

I think it is a good project, it is LGPL and one could definitely=20
incoporate some of their code? I did already ask the
maintainer twice per mail but got no answer.
Does LGPL allow incorporating the source into another
GPL project without explicit permission?

Although I'd always ask for explicit permission, I think LGPL and GPL don't
require it, as long as headers and copyright notice of source files remain
intact.
