I use Quicken 2000 under WinXP (though I would prefer
not to). I exported a QIF file that contains several
pairs of identical transactions, like this:
D8/15/03
U115.90
T115.90
CX
PHSBC PEP/ISA/PLANS
LInvestment Inc:Tax-free Income
^
D8/15/03
U115.90
T115.90
CX
PHSBC PEP/ISA/PLANS
LInvestment Inc:Tax-free Income
In each case jGnash 1.10.6 accepted only one
(presumably the first).
If this is not a bug, but a deliberate attempt by the
importing code to avoid duplication, then I disapprove.
My wife and I occasionally have identical amounts
credited simultaneously to our joint bank account, with
a result that looks like the above.
This is closely related to bug number 2534469, "Qif transactions missing". I'm not going to mark this (nor the other one) as a duplicate, because the behavior described is not exactly the same. But the two probably should be investigated as a unit (and fixed likewise, if they're going to be fixed).
2534469, "Qif transactions missing" is indeed a duplicate of this one. The only difference is in the description. Perhaps I worded this one badly, because it is the title that is misleading, which I don't believe I assigned.
