Woohoo!  Eureka!

I found the problem.  Simple and short; SourceForge.net needs to improve
their syncmail scripts.  When syncmail sends the mail, it prepares 
user@domain for the From: bit; when the mail is sent to a SourceForge Mailing
list, it fails because fo...@so... is not valid, but if we have the
users. bit in the From: field, than the SourceForge finger-back test succeeds
and the mail goes to its (SourceForge) destination! :-))

Apart from that, I apologise for using this list.  I will fix this in the
