Hi Gabe,

Welcome!  Feel free to attach your patch to the bug report and I'll take a look at it.  I'll try to take a closer look at the bug report tomorrow...

Hello,

My name is Gabe. I'm a senior CS student at the University of Maryland. I selected JFreeChart as an open source contribution for a class project, designed to get our 'feet wet' in the world of community-based development. I chose the bug listed on the JFreeChart Sourceforge bug tracker:

[ 1632559 ] BarRenderer3D draw wall when axis is not visible

which seemed like a good choice to just ease in to getting to know the JFreeChart library. However I disagreed with the solution posted with that bug (not in terms of code but appearance) so I implemented it as removing the 'wall' rendering altogether.

I have a svn diff patch on the BarRenderer3D.java; if anyone is willing, i could submit it just to find out if my version is aesthetically good or bad ( I think it looks better). I don't necessarily think that the code is up to par yet as I just tossed in some conditionals on the existing code. But if anyone is willing I would like some feedback;

I'd also like to consider participating in further development in the future as I get more comfortable with the JFreeChart library.

Thanks,
gabe
