There is a typo in the API for the DefaultIntervalXYDataset under the function addSeries.
http://www.jfree.org/jfreechart/api/gjdoc/org/jfree/data/xy/DefaultIntervalXYDataset.html#addSeries:Comparable:double--

The paragraph reads:
Parameters:
seriesKey - the series key (null not permitted).
data - the data (must be an array with length 6, containing six arrays of equal length, the first containing the x-values and the second containing the y-values).

The ERROR:
the data (must be an array with length 6, containing six arrays of equal length, the first containing the x-values and the second containing the y-values).
SHOULD READ:
the data (must be an array with length 6, containing six arrays of equal length, the first containing the x-values and the fourth containing the y-values).
The specific correction:
fourth containing the y-values).
As opposed to:
second containing the y-values).

Thanks for the report. I committed a fix to Subversion for inclusion in the 1.0.14 release.
