I'm not a Jetty committer (only user), but I am an Apache committer (Lucene). From my experience with Lucene at Apache, I would guess that Jetty may benefit from moving to Codehaus. Lucene moved to ASF from SF about 5-6 years ago, and our time in Apache Jakarta and now Lucene (top-level project) has been good, and I imagine Codehaus provides a similar environment. +1 Otis --- Greg Wilkins <gr...@mo...> wrote: > > Guys, > > I've been thinking about moving Jetty 6 and beyond to Codehaus. > Several reasons for this: > > + subversion > + strong emphasis on java > + smaller more focused aggregation of projects than sourceforge. > + smaller more focused group of developers on codehaus, so we can > perhaps gain more assistance. > + ruled by a despot rather than infathomable support lists. > closer to the jetty administration model :-) > + good time to clean up the committers list etc. > + they will have lots of spare capacity as some projects may be > moving to apache from codehaus. > > Are there any objections to this move or at least starting the > conversation? > > If you are a committer and ar interested in maintaining that for > Jetty 6 - please speak up. > > cheers > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by the JBoss Inc.
