Timesheet by Joachim Eibl

Helper tool for tracking how you spent your time.
Copyright: Joachim Eibl 2008-2020
Licence: GPL Version 2 or later

http://sourceforge.net/projects/jetimesheet/

Requirements for compilation: Qt5or newer (see qt.io)

Currently only Windows is supported.

Features:

  • Pops up at adjustable intervals to let you update your tasks.
  • Saves description and category for all activities.
  • Editable tables.
  • Right mouse click to insert/delete lines.
  • Summary modes: Compact and detailled. (You can copy and paste the summary to other programs.)
  • Sum per day is shown at the bottom.
  • Tray icon shows the current date, and when clicked the timesheet is shown.
  • Tasks with category "Pause" are omitted from any sum.
  • Autosave on Quit.
  • Automessages on Inactivity/Activation/Suspend/Resume (Detects activity via Keyboard and Mouse Hooks)

Currently there are these limitations:

  • Better don't remove Category items that are in use.
  • For every entry specify a description and category. If either is missing then the entry will not be saved.
  • Choose a local folder for saving the timesheet file. (I have heard of problems on remote drives.)

When saving, Timesheet will create a backup file first and places a checksum at the bottom of each file. So if you get checksum error message on opening timesheet then - (before saving again !) - backup the timesheet.bak-file. (Such problems have only been reported with remote folders where I think on system-shutdown the network connection broke during saving.)

The saved file has text format and can also be edited manually. If you do so just ignore the checksum error on starting timesheet again.
