I may be out in left field on this, but I need to make a comment. Threads like this have kept me quite on this list. This latest batch of bashing fellow members for minor questions or comments gives me pause. It seems that we extremely eager to attack each other here, instead of working in cooperation. I am VB consultant by trade and my work with Java, Python and Korfe will be in my own time. It will also be on my own time table. I am afraid to do anything for fear that it will launch a tirade of flames, because I sure that I will make a mistake of some type. This is not exactly the incentive to gain additional developers or users. If the goal is create an IDE that people will flock to then, this will need to change. I expect that quantity of "newbie" or annoying questions will only rise in the future. As such, we need to be much more tolerant of individual mistakes or misunderstandings. My last topic will be vulgarity of on this list. This does not convey the professionalism that I'm used to. As consultant, I can not recommend this list to clients, because this lacks professionalism. It leaves the impression that this group does not have the intelligence to articulate themselves. In turn, this reflects poorly on anyone who would recommend this group. All this leads to several questions for the group: * I am I mistaken in the goals of jEdit are? * Is this too much to ask from this group? * Am I off base? * Does anyone agree? * Should I just shut the hell up and leave?
