I often use awk mode in conjunction with the ctags parser provided by CtagsSidekick plugin. AFAIK the CtagsSidekick plugin does not provide a special completion service (?). But I get completion popups with both the built-in action "complete-word" and the Sidekick's action "sidekick-complete". Both popups are providing the tokens of the edit mode file. The built-in action additionally provides all other words that exist in the current buffer. So it seems, that the Sidekick plugin provides the tokens of the edit mode file for completion, if there is no special completion service.
