You could use the DOS short name for that directory instead. Cd into C:\ and do a DIR /x and note the name right after the size column. Mine has DOCUME~1 for Documents and Settings. Your mileage may vary if you've got other files or folders that start with Documents. Subject: [ jEdit-users ] Problem of jEdit on Windows Hi,=20 I am now using jEdit on my Windows XP with Java 1.4.1. I put my java files on the following directory: C:\Documents and Settings\Jingzhao Ou\My Documents\MyJavaLab\JavaScheduling\Minmin\Processor.java Notice that there is space in the directory name. When I compiled my Java code from the console, I got the following error message: > javac -classpath "$CLASSPATH;C:\Documents and Settings\Jingzhao Ou\My Documents\MyJavaLab\JavaScheduling\Minmin" -sourcepath "C:\Documents and Settings\Jingzhao Ou\My Documents\MyJavaLab\JavaScheduling\Minmin" -deprecation -encoding Cp1252 C:\Documents and Settings\Jingzhao Ou\My Documents\MyJavaLab\JavaScheduling\Minmin\Processor.java javac: invalid flag: C:\Documents It seems that the space gives trouble to the console. I encountered a similar problem when I edited my latex file using jEdite. Can any one point out solutions to this problems? Thanks a lot!
