Hi. New here, so please forgive me if this seems simplistic. I did search the archives and couldn't find any way to do this. I want to try using jedit as the editor for my email. Unfortunately, it is quite slow to load if I simply specify jedit as the run script. So, I looked at the alternative -- loading a server as soon as I start my email program using "jedit -background -nogui" and then calling jedit as the editor. This does have the desired effect of having the editor load MUCH more quickly. Unfortunately, the call to jedit from the email progam returns IMMEDIATELY and sees no change in the file and, therefore, aborts sending the email. What would be ideal would be if there were a way where the calling "client" could wait until the server closes the file and THEN return so that the script, and therefore, the email program could THEN continue. Does anyone have a way that I can do this? TIA, Lisa |
