I used to really love the SQL plugin, it was tremendously useful for quick
queries, browsing PL/SQL procs, testing JDBC statements, etc. However since
it became dependent on the Project Viewer plugin (and why this happened in
the first place I can't imagine), it's been next to useless to me. I don't
actually want to use Project Viewer to manage my code, I use a combination
Sessions & AntHelper and I'm more than happy with that. So what I have to do
is set up a "default" dummy project in order to be able to set up any
databases for the SQL plugin. Okay, that's not ideal, but not too much of a
pain. I give Project Viewer a high level root, tell it not to import
anything, set up my databases and away I go with the SQL plugin.
Unfortunately next time I start jEdit, all this information is lost & I have
to start from scratch. This is intensely irritating! I don't know if it's an
error with ProjectViewer (I'm using v2.0.2 and SQL 0.97). Other people at my
work are doing exactly what I'm trying to do with no problem, but we can't
find any difference between my config and theirs.
