Hi, I've been a jEdit 4.1final user for more than 2 years and as I change
from one machine to another regularly, maintaining configuration is a must
I always zip (win) or tar.gz (linux) the entire .jedit directory, sometimes
- the plugin jars
- the very big jIndex plugin indexes
This allows a quite clean migration, but keep this in mind:
1- if your java configuration changes, jCompiler configuration won't be
valid and you will need to regenerate jIndex' indexes
2- try to keep your projects in similar directory trees, or your Session
and/or ProjectViewer plugin configurations won't be valid, also.
For this it would be very useful a macro for changing some configuration and
working paths and propagate the changues to RecentFiles, Sessions,
jCompiler, ProjectViewer and son on. ¿Is this solved in 4.2?
By the way:
A really great tool, I,m awating for 4.2 quite stable for me to migrate.
jEdit 4.1 let me got a very powerful development environment in some old
machines that couldn't run some giant (and propietary) IDE's.
